CABs advise the Washoe County Commissioners on neighborhood issues such as land use planning, water and sewer service, and recreation needs. The volunteer boards meet bimonthly (January, March, May, July, September and November), with the exception of the Gerlach/Empire CAB that meet four times a year (February, June, August and October), the Verdi Township/West Truckee Meadows CAB that meet monthly, and the Incline Village/Crystal Bay CAB that meets six times a year (February, May, June, July, August and November). Applicants must reside within the area represented by the CAB to be eligible for membership.
