Appointment Process
CAB membership applications should be returned to the Washoe County Department of Community Development, Community Support Services Program. After CAB Program staff verify that the applicants reside within the geographic boundaries of the CAB, the applications are then submitted to the County Commissioner within whose district the CAB resides. The Commissioner reviews the applications and may interview the applicants. The Commissioner then makes a recommendation to the Board of County Commissioners who make the final appointments. CAB members are appointed for staggered two-year terms beginning July 1. Terms for members appointed to fill vacant positions commence on the date of appointment.
