The McGee Center serves as the gateway for early intervention and prevention programs. These programs emphasize early identification of at-risk youths with the aim of empowering families to work cooperatively to solve their problems. McGee Center services include reception, processing and case management of status offending youth as well as day and afternoon programming through the REIGN Program for girls.
The Charles M. McGee Center for Adolescent Children does not provide residential time out services. However, parents in need of immediate assistance after hours or on weekends are encouraged to fill out an online referral form.
1. CASE MANAGEMENT SERVICES
Appointments may be scheduled to discuss youth's issues prior to any police involvement. Case mangement services include assessments, crisis intervention, and referrals to community agencies and programs.
2. REIGN PROGRAM
The REIGN (Renew Education Instill Genuine Nobility) Program is offered through the Washoe County Department of Juvenile Services. It is a day program for females ages 14-17; who are experiencing difficulty in school, at home or have involvement with the Juvenile Justice System.
HOW DO I ACCESS MCGEE CENTER SERVICES?
1- A parent may call the McGee Center at 775-856-4600, Monday through Friday, 8-5pm to schedule an appointment with a Case Manager prior to any police involvement.
2- A parent may fill out a Referral Request online and a Case Manager will respond in a timely manner.
