How to Find Out of if a Home in Washoe County is in Foreclosure or Default
Use the Washoe County Recorder's Office documents database EagleWeb to find out if a home has a recorded Notice of Default or Notice of Sale.
Washoe County Recorder's Office EagleWeb database: http://icris.washoecounty.us/recorder/web/
Using EagleWeb
- A one time registration is required to use EagleWeb
- Once at the EagleWeb search page read the instructions on how to search for a specific document type (i.e. Notice of Default or Notice of Sale); these appear near the top of the page.
- Two ways to search for a Notice of Sale or Default:
- "Grantor," this brings up documents recorded under that name
- "Recording Date," this produces a list of all documents recorded within a specific time frame.
- A homeowner in foreclosure is a "Grantor".
- Use the format Last Name (space) First Name in the Grantor field box, e.g. Smith Jane
- Notice of Default is when the owner is late on a payment.
- Notice of Sale is when a home has gone into foreclosure.
- Addresses are not required to be on a recorded Notice; an APN (Parcel Number) should appear on it.
