The Washoe County Commission approved an interlocal agreement with the City of Reno for the operation and provision of homeless services at the Community Assistance Center (CAC) located at 315 Record Street.

Washoe County Fire Services Coordinator Kurt Latipow has been busy this morning correcting an erroneous statement made in a Reno Gazette Journal article that appeared in today’s paper stating the Fire Services Master Plan approved by the Washoe County Commission at yesterday’s meeting, “would address whether Sierra Fire and Truckee Meadows Fire districts should be merged and whether Reno and Sparks departments should merge.”

Washoe County officials deposited $3 million into an escrow account this week in fulfillment of a settlement reached in 2006 with Evans Creek, LLC to preserve pristine open space adjacent to the Sierra Nevada mountain range immediately following the completion of an appraisal of the property by agreed-upon appraisers.
