At their March 25 Board meeting, Washoe County Commissioners took the first step in improving the environment and quality of life for the Crystal Bay community by authorizing the bidding of the Crystal Bay Utilities Undergrounding Project.

At their March 25 Board meeting, Washoe County Commissioners approved the second reading and adoption of an ordinance that amends Chapter 100 of the Washoe County Code. This ordinance will increase fees for building, grading, solar and pool permits, and it will increase fees for related inspections and licenses, adding plan review fees, and modifying building valuation data.

At their March 25 Board meeting, Washoe County Commissioners adopted and executed a resolution for the County’s all-hazards evacuation plan. This plan addresses the provision of mass care, to include shelter, feeding and distribution of supplies and services to affected citizens, including special needs populations.

The newest edition of Washoe County Presents…State of the County Address 2008" will be broadcast on WCTV Channel 17 and available to citizens at their convenience on video-on demand. Bob Larkin, Chairman of the Washoe County Commission and Katy Singlaub, Washoe County Manager provide a comprehensive look at services, challenges and issues facing Washoe County in 2008.

Washoe County Department budget presentations are scheduled for March 10, 17 and 24 and will be broadcast live on WCTV-17 as well as posted on the County’s video-on demand website by the next day at the latest.

Unincorporated Washoe County residents are invited to take advantage of dump vouchers that can be redeemed for free dumping at the Lockwood Landfill and Commercial Row Transfer Station during the month April.
