Reno, Nevada. February 27, 2009. Washoe County received word this week that Standard and Poor’s, one of the country’s premier bond rating firms, has raised the County’s outstanding general obligation rating from AA- to AA.

Washoe County officials have made property tax calculations on about 171,000 parcels in Washoe County, and the preliminary results indicate that property tax revenues for local governments will decrease an average of 3.5% in the next fiscal year beginning July 1, 2009.
