Image of artifact The museum reopened in March, 2003 with a fresh new look. The Wilbur May Foundation funded a $450,000 major remodel of the museum's lobby, gift store, and gallery. The new Gallery leading into the collection is greatly increased in size and features rotating, local artwork. The Museum Store offers unique, quality merchandise including jewelry, beautiful books, African art, and children's activity kits. In addition, the collection has been improved with new cases, lighting, and carpeting.

The museum is more beautiful and better than ever!

The May Collection showcases priceless antiques and collectibles from Wilbur D. May's 40-plus trips around the world. Italian amulets pre-date Christ's birth. A rare collection of T´ang Dynasty pottery, primitive African artwork, Eskimo scrimshaws, Egyptian scarabs, Greek icons, and a genuine shrunken head from South America are some of the many treasures that await Museum visitors.

In addition to the gallery collections, other rooms in the Museum are re-creations of Wilbur's 2600-acre Double Diamond Ranch, named for the brand that was created from stacking his "W" and "M" initials. The living room, tack room and big game trophy room provides a chronicle of his life as a businessman, composer, pilot, philanthropist and rancher.
