COPIES OF MARRIAGE CERTIFICATES
   
   
For proof of a marriage, you may need a certified copy of your Marriage Certificate, as recorded in the Recorder`s Office. Please be aware that the Washoe County Recorder`s Office maintains only those Records of marriage licenses issued in Washoe County. The Record of a marriage license issued in a county other than Washoe County would be recorded in the county where issued.

This is a secure web site and a credit card must be used to complete the transaction. Using the tab key or the mouse to move from field to field, fill out the form and click on Submit Form at the bottom of the page. Only credit cards with a U.S. billing address can be processed.

Please allow 2 weeks for your copy(ies) to arrive. All copy orders are returned via U.S. Postal Service.

As an alternative, you may print the on-line Request for Marriage Record form located at marriage request form.pdf. Fill out the form and fax it to 775-328-3662 or mail it to the Washoe County Recorder, Attn. Marriages, P.O. Box 11130, Reno, NV, 89520.

You may also call our Marriage Division at 775-328-3660 to request a copy over the phone, or to ask questions. Due to budget restraints and a staffing shortage, please be understanding of our staff`s challenges in answering the phones promptly.
