Kevin Schiller, Director

The Board of County Commissioners appointed Kevin Schiller as Director of Washoe County Department of Social Services on January 5, 2009. Kevin earned a Bachelor's degree in Social Work from the University of Nevada, Reno and has worked in child welfare over the past 16 years. Kevin began his career in Jackson Hole, Wyoming as a child protection worker, juvenile probation officer, and adult services worker from 1993-1996 at which point he then joined Washoe County as a child protective services worker. Kevin has held various management positions within the Department since 1998 including Children's Services Coordinator and Children's Services Division Director prior to his appointment. Kevin is dedicated to providing ongoing leadership to improve the lives of Washoe County's children and families.
