Election Administration - The Office of the Registrar of Voters conducts regular federal, state, county, city and district elections, as well as recalls and special elections.  We accept candidate filings, create and print ballots, prepare and operate approximately 100 polling polling places, hire and train over 1000 election board officers and print and mail sample ballots.

Voter Information - Voters may register in our office, at the Department of Motor Vehicles or by picking up a mail-in application form at many convenient locations throughout the County, including post offices, libraries, senior citizen centers, public agencies and union halls.  Field Registrars make registration available at malls, grocery stores and even go door-to-door to assist citizens who wish to register to vote.

Precinct/Map Update - Washoe County's 230,000 + registered voters are assigned to 600 + precincts.  The continual growth of the urban areas of the County creates a need for us to frequently divide our precincts and update our precinct and district maps.

Signature Verification - The Office of the Registrar of Voters verifies signatures on a variety of types of petitions; individuals or political parties which wish to gain access to a ballot, initiatives, referenda and recalls.  Scanned signatures are retrieved digitally for efficient verification.
